York House Hotel, Bristol
This new hotel development in Bristol involves the refurbishment of a 1970’s office building and an extension at the rear of the existing building to accommodate conference facilities and additional bedrooms.
OCSC carried out an in-depth desk top study and an intrusive investigation to establish the condition of the existing building prior to the planning submission. When the condition survey was completed, OCSC were involved in the procurement of specialist sub-contractors to carry out remedial works to the existing structure.
In general, the design intent will be to work within the confines of the existing building structure, however there will be isolated areas where concrete columns are being removed to enhance the front elevation. The Planning submission has recently been made and strengthening works to the existing structure are due to commence.
