Hannover Gate, Sheffield

O’Connor Sutton Cronin has been appointed as Mechanical and Electrical Consultants for the mixed use development at Hanover Gate, Sheffield. The development consists of a 220 Bedroom Hotel, 4500m² of Office Space and 120 Residential Units. The development will be constructed to the highest standards with the Office Space design development to a BREEAM Very Good minimum rating. Throughout the development sustainable design is at its core with connection to the local district heating system part of its philosophy to complete a building with a low carbon footprint.

Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services The Mechanical Systems with the development shall consist of Space Heating within the Hotel Bedrooms and Air-Conditioning within the Hotel Public Areas. In addition Bedroom Ensuites and Kitchen Areas will be served with Sanitary Services, Water Services and Mechanical Ventilation. The Office block will be designed as a naturally ventilated building with Double Skin Façade. Core Areas will be served with Sanitary Services, Water Services and Mechanical Ventilation. Residential Units will be served with Radiator Space Heating in all rooms. Bathrooms and kitchen Areas will be served with Sanitary Services, Water Services and Mechanical Ventilation. Each section of the development will be served from the Sheffield District Heating System which is a low carbon energy source generated from Sheffield’s own residual waste.

The Electrical Systems shall comprise Main Electrical Intake/Service, Main Switchboard & Electrical Room, Power Factor Correction, Sub Mains Distribution, Cable Containment, Standby Generators, UPS System, Earthing & Bonding, Internal & External Lighting, Emergency Lighting & Exit Signage, Office Work Station Power Services, General Services Socket Outlets Installation, ELV Socket Outlets Installation, BMS, Special Power Provisions, Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm.
