OCSC attend Roe & Co. Distillery sneak peek

OCSC are proud to have been entrusted by Diageo with the multidisciplinary engineering design of the wonderful renewal of the Guinness Power House to the Roe & Co. Distillery.

The original Art Deco power station was saved for future generation by re-purposing it as the new home of the historic Irish Whiskey Brand Roe & Co.

The interventions have been light touch; preserving, reusing, re-purposing, renewing and recycling.  Heavy intervention included removal of the massive reinforced foundations and ground floor slab which supported the major generating plant.

This clear out has created a naturally light filled four floor void where the new magic of the generation and distillation of Roe & Co. takes place.

This new sterile distillation hall is a wonder of modern engineering and traditional design craftsmanship. Timber vats and exquisite copper kettles can be observed; distilling magic; from the new steel and glass viewing bridge in a carefully controlled and monitored atmosphere with the Art Deco backdrop of the original turbine hall. This is Multidisciplinary Engineering at its best. All at OCSC are so proud that our first major Diageo project has been delivered so well.

We were privileged to get a sneak preview last week and our advice to all is get on the website and book your exclusive tour of this amazing building and sample the Roe & Co magic for yourself.
