OCSC Managing Director Tony Horan elected ACEI President
Tony Horan, Group Managing Director has been elected as President of the Association of Consulting Engineers Ireland (ACEI) for 2017 – 2018. Tony’s term of office runs until 31st March 2018.
Tony has been a member of the Executive Committee of the ACEI since 2011 and during that period has undertaken a number of roles within the Association including that of Honorary Treasurer, Convenor of the Procurement Committee and, more recently, as Second and then First Vice President of the Association.
The Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI) – established in 1938 – is a voluntary, self-regulatory professional body representing the business and professional interests of firms and individuals engaged in Consulting Engineering.
As the voice of the Consulting Engineering profession, it assists in resolving issues of importance for clients and Consultants alike and contributes to the development of relevant public policy through involvement in relevant working groups, Government committees, and the development of model conditions of engagement and policy papers.
The ACEI enjoys a number of international affiliations. The Association is a member of:
- EFCA (The European Federation of Consulting Engineering Associations) which represents the professional and commercial interests of engineering consultancy in Brussels and throughout Europe and
- FIDIC which represents engineering consultancy worldwide, particularly with lending agencies such as the World Bank.
During his term in office Tony will represent the ACEI at regular Construction Industry Council (CIC) meetings as well as the Engineers Ireland, EFCA, FIDIC and Association for Consulting & Engineering (ACE) Conferences.
Tony is looking forward to the challenges of the year ahead and sees the appointment as a significant personal and professional achievement as well as a major vote of confidence in OCSC.
