Harmony Row

The project involves constructing an infill office building over a basement car park on a brown field site.  The building is constructed in a single block in the shape of a hook.  The curved element is six storeys in height whilst the straight section is four storeys in height.

The building is designed as a concrete flat slab on supporting columns and walls on insitu concrete foundations on piles taken to rock.  The basement slab was lined with an impermeable water proof membrane to prevent the ingress of water.  The site has a high water table which was taken into account in the design of the secant pile wall which encloses the site.  Approximate area is 6,650m².

Construction was completed in April 2006.
