OCSC were appointed by the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown Establishment Board and the Department of Education and Science as Civil and Structural Consulting Engineers for the new campus development.
The project involved the complete development of the campus from a green field including master planning, roads infrastructure planning, drainage strategy and transportation links. The master plan focused on separation of pedestrians from vehicular traffic, linkages between buildings across the site and pedestrian comfort. Once the master plan was agreed the initial infrastructure had to be quickly established to allow for the opening of the Institute in temporary accommodation while the buildings were being designed and built.
The new buildings include multipurpose building, student services facility, sports hall, library, teaching block and apprentice training buildings. The buildings use off site components where possible and precast structural systems.
