OCSC were appointed Civil & Structural Engineers to the Baldonnel Business Park project in 1998, working under SIAC Construction as client.
‘The Connect Agency’, a 3,000m sq. high bay warehouse with 3,000m sq. of associated office space to the front of the building, commenced on site in 1998 and was completed during 1999 to a demanding end user client programme. The warehouse structure is a portal frame spanning 35m, with Tegral type ‘built up’ panels supported on cold rolled purlins and sheeting rails. The floor slab to the warehouse is designed for an imposed load of 25kN/m2. The office structure is a steel frame with ‘Hollowcore’ type precast units supported on ‘Slimflor’ steel beams. In addition to OCSC carrying out the Civil and Structural design, we also assisted the architect in the architectural technology aspects of the project, particularly with regard to the cladding details.
From 2000 through to 2006 OCSC were appointed as Civil & Structural Engineers to various phases of the Enterprise Park in Baldonnel, a speculative development of smaller industrial type units with internal office space at ground and first floor levels. Innovative solutions for simplifying the construction and shortening the construction programme were implemented, including the use of cast on site precast concrete ground beams and party walls.
