OCSC were appointed by Larne Harbour Limited to design and manage construction of the infrastructure works required to facilitate the Port of Larne Business Park.
The Port of Larne Business Park is a scheme aimed at developing an area of Larne known locally as The Redlands Estate. The Redlands Estate was formerly in the total ownership of Larne Harbour Limited, but recently portions of land have been sold to various parties to develop in line with a haulage/light commercial theme.
OCSC was responsible for the design, contract and tender documentation, contract administration, site supervision and also acted as CDM Co-ordinator.
Phase 1A involved the construction of approximately 240m of new roadway, Road B and associated footways, storm drainage, foul drainage, watermains, street lighting, and utilities ducting.
Phase 1B involved the construction of approximately 60m of new roadway, Road C and associated footways and services outlined above.
Phase 1C involved the upgrading of the existing Redlands Sewage Pumping Station, to facilitate the expansion of the business park and to a standard deemed adoptable by NI Water.
Further elements of work, similar to that of Phase 1, are proposed as future developments at the Port of Larne Business Park. These future development works will connect to the works completed within Phase 1. OCSC also completed the adoption process for the existing watermains network within the business park.
