OCSC were appointed by the Health Services Executive as consultants to undertake the design of a new signalised junction access to Cherry Orchard Hospital in Dublin. The scheme is located on the Ballyfermot Road 200 m east of the main access to the hospital. The project involved the construction of an access road from HSE lands to the Ballyfermot Road where the existing bus lane, pedestrian and cycle facilities had to be modified. The works included a new signalised junction and Toucan crossing.
OCSC took the scheme through planning and detailed design. The design of the scheme required significant liaison with the Quality Bus Network Office and the Transportation Section of Dublin City Council. The scheme involved the construction of the link road and junction, the installation of a SCATS compatible signals system, new bus stop, public lighting, utilities and other associated works.
OCSC provided planning, design, contract documentation, contract administration and site supervision services for the project.
