Ballygally Community Centre (Belfast)

OCSC were appointed by the Ballygally Community Development Association as the civil and structural engineers on this new build Community Centre and Shop project.  This was a 2 storey steel framed building with masonry infill panels and precast concrete floors to the ground and first floors.  The building has been designed to provide clear span floor plates for the retail and community centre uses.  A disabled lift, a kitchen and changing facilities were all incorporated into the accommodation.

This project was constructed on time and on budget.  The building was constructed in a car park which continued to be used by the public during construction.  BCDA secured funding from the Village SOS programme at the Big Lottery Fund as well as Larne Borough Council and others and they transformed the car park into a thriving shop and community centre.
