Thurles Art Centre & Library

The project comprises a new library and Arts Centre complete with fly tower.  A particular feature of this building is the riverside walk along the River Suir together with the aesthetically designed glazed elements.  The Arts Centre contains a visual arts exhibition space (shared with the library), a 250 seat flexible theatre, with full flying and rigging and orchestra pit, backstage facilities, foyer and a café/bar and arts offices for the region; the Library with full includes a 600 sq.m branch lending library and a local studies resource base with reading room and open and closed access archive and a shared community space.  The building won the Concrete Society Award 2006 and RIAI Best Public / Cultural Building in 2007.
