The project involved the conversion of an existing Temperance Hall and performance space into office accommodation. The extension involved the use of existing cast iron columns and replication of existing beams.
This is a listed building and all works were carried out in a sensitive nature to protect the existing structure.
The extension of the first floor gallery in the original performance hall using replication of existing materials allowed the addition of extra floor area while maintaining the views of the fine decorative plasterwork of the proscenium arch. This arch was carefully protected during construction and a new conference room was added at high level behind the arch. Sensitive restoration and refurbishment saved the building and brought it back to a new functional commercial life.
