Adamstown is a new urban district on a 500 acre Greenfield site adjoining the main Dublin – Kildare railway line between Newcastle and Lucan.  It is a strategic Development Zone to be developed over an extended period based on a Masterplan prepared by South Dublin County Council.

Adamstown, when complete will provide up to 10,000 new homes along with associated infrastructure and facilities including schools, a railway station, 3 recreation parks, a leisure centre, 3 local commercial centres, primary and secondary schools and district commercial centre

OCSC were appointed Civil and Structural Engineers by both Castlethorn and Maplewood on sections of the development, to provide detailed design of Superstructures, basement carparks, foul, surface water, attenuation, watermains and roads infrastructure. 

The type, size and structural form of the homes varied across the various developments from 2 storey homes to 5 storey apartment blocks.  Structural forms included Reinforced and precast multi-storey apartment blocks, traditional blockwork and masonry and timber frame and structural steel construction.

OCSC provided civil, structural, engineering services for the development from preplanning meetings with the planning authority through to detailed design, contract documentation and site supervision.
