Spencer Dock Residential

OCSC were appointed by Treasury Holdings to provide Structural and Civil design services for this prestigious residential development at Spencer Dock. The Civil design incorporated site-wide infrastructure, stabilisation and refurbishment of sections of the Royal Canal, Reconstruction details for Mayor Street and close liaison with the Rail Procurement Agency with respect to the Luas light rail system. The Luas light rail track works, underground power station and rail stop being constructed by others concurrent with the project.

The residential development ranges in height from 6 to 10 storeys and consists of 600 apartments arranged around four award winning landscaped courtyards. The development also contains a “central walk-way” providing pedestrian permeability and linking the Canal and its linear parks to both the Luas station and the CIE station at Sherrif Street.

The superstructure consists of precast wide slab floor units with structural screeds supported on precast cross walls with thermally isolated external cantilevered pre-cast concrete slab balconies. The superstructure is supported on a reinforced concrete transfer slab at ground floor level over a basement carpark is a grade 2 tanked structure designed to BS8102, comprising a 400mm deep reinforced concrete slab spanning between reinforced concrete pile caps on load bearing piles.

OCSC provided Structural, Civil and site wide infrastructure design for the development from planning stage with the DDDA through to detailed construction information and monitoring onsite.
