On behalf of Prince Philip and the Guards Polo Club, OCSC were appointed as consulting engineers for the construction of a new club house located beside the Royal Box on the Polo grounds in Windsor. A new single storey timber frame structure was constructed on mass concrete trench fill foundations.
As the building had to be completed during the closed season for the Polo Club, the timber frame for the large open plan bar and restaurant space was prefabricated off site while the less complex timber frame for the kitchen, offices and changing rooms were constructed on site. Soakaway chambers were located beneath the polo pitch to discharge storm water. The building was completed on time and within budget.
