Energy Survey, County Louth Golf Club

O’Connor Sutton Cronin were appointed by County Louth Golf Club to carry out an energy survey of their Club house and ancillary buildings.

The extent of the analysis covered energy usage within the Restaurant facilities, guest bedrooms, changing facilities, Kitchen, pumping stations, caddy car charging points, etc.

The survey reported on individual energy usages and areas where improvements can be made.  This was represented in the form of annual energy usage savings and simple paybacks against the capital cost of the improvement

OCSC researched the possibility of state funded grant schemes available for the proposed works.  At the time of the survey, the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) activated the “Better Energy Workplaces” scheme allowing the proposed facility to claim 35% grant allowance for any energy improvement measures installed.

O’Connor Sutton Cronin advised the following measures under the grant scheme:
• Insulation improvement
• Lighting improvement
• Improvement to the internal lighting scheme
• Improvement to heating controls
• Installation of a mini CHP.
