The aim of this project for Argyll & Bute Council, in Scotland was to redesign and rejuvenate Helensburgh Town Centre and to redevelop the West Bay Esplanade located on the Clyde Coastline.

• The redevelopment of the West Bay Esplanade, linking it to the town center has created an environment suited for leisure strolling with a string of ‘event points’ along the shore and provides better access by customers to the many varied local shops, restaurants, cafes and bars on West Clyde Street. The Esplanade was redesigned to provide a more exciting experience and to replace some of the inadequate materials which have failed to withstand the environmental conditions along the Clyde Coastline. 
• The Town Centre provides a range of facilities including an events/ performance place, a children’s play area, landscaped gardens, and an informal grassed area.  
• As part of the project, the plan is to develop a more sustainable traffic management scheme in the Town Centre by reducing traffic through the main streets in the town center, thus enhancing pedestrian movement, and creating event space and a street-cafe culture.  The project aims to: create new event space, road narrowing and widening of adjoining pavement, create new parking bays, and change the traffic flow in the town center. 
• The project incorporates appropriate parking management regulations to support the regeneration of the town center, which also includes additional dedicated disabled parking spaces, as well as improved cycling facilities.
