The Nelson Primary School project consists of a new hall area; adjacent storage rooms and an extension to a
refurbished classroom totaling a floor area of 203m2. The refurbishment consists of three classrooms, storage areas, a corridor, and office space totaling a floor area of 200m 2. OCSC carried out Energy Assessments and a BREEAM Assessment.

  • The mechanical works comprised the design of low-pressure hot water heating, cold water, above-ground drainage, controls, and builders’ work in connection with the proposed mechanical services to serve the proposed extensions and modified existing areas.
    This included works both within the existing school and in the new extensions including alterations to existing services to suit the new layouts and to allow new services to connect to existing services.
  • The electrical works comprised the design of sub-main distribution, lighting power, fire alarm, and class change, security system, voice/data containment. An energy-efficient Photovoltaic system was also installed on the roof of the new extension to meet BREEAM requirements
