OCSC have an immediate requirement for an experienced Resident Engineers.
The Role
The Resident Engineer will ensure works are constructed in accordance with the Employer’s Representative’s Requirements and that the Contractor carries out all obligations.
The roles for the Resident Engineer will initially be based on a range of sites in Dublin and throughout Ireland.
Accountabilities
The Resident Engineer accountabilities shall be inclusive of the following.
- Supervision and associated administration of all Civil/Structural related construction works on site.
- Supervision of requirements and instructions from the Employers Representative (ER), Design Team, Client and Local Authority etc.
- Monitor, measure, inspect and report on works being carried out to the Employer’s Requirements.
- Assist the Employer’s Representative in Technical and Contractual matters.
- Prepare regular site progress reports in conjunction with other site Resident Staff regarding Quality and Programme.
- Monitor the Contractor’s works for compliance with the Safety Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 and related legislation.
- Review of Method Statements and Contractor’s Engineering works proposals.
- Maintain comprehensive records/diary of work in progress and report on same.
Experience
The Resident Engineer must comply with the following requirements.
Minimum 5 years post graduate relevant experience on site, supervising large infrastructure works.
- Experience in different forms of construction contracts.
- Experience with UK and/or Ireland projects.
- Experience with UK and/or Ireland projects.

- Must have good knowledge and awareness of H&S legislation and regulations.
Required Skills
- Have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a Team worker.
- Can define potential problem issues, collect data, establish, and report on facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations.
- IT skills and familiarity with relevant computer applications.
- Demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude.
The Ideal Candidate
The Resident Engineers – education, knowledge and experience should comply with the following.
- Have a current Safe Pass and other relevant Safety in Construction qualifications.
