OCSC, Ireland’s leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy are currently recruiting a Senior Structural Engineer in their Birmingham Office.
Your role is to assist in establishing OCSC as a centre of excellence, to achieve turnover and profit margins as per the business plan.
You will be part of a team that will strive to produce integrated, holistic and sustainable design solutions.
You shall be responsible for leading a team, managing project delivery and quality.
You must be able to work closely with public clients across a range of projects within the structures sector.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities through enhanced business relationships.
- Lead all aspects of small to large complex projects.
- Manage and coordinate project resources (weekly).
- Manage client expectations and attend client meetings.
- Provide clear technical solutions.
- Report / Review Programme delivery (weekly).
- Other accountabilities as reasonably assigned to you.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Have strong leadership skills.
- Demonstrable experience on leading the design process.
- Demonstrable experience on leading the review and creation of models.
- Demonstrable buildings focused structural engineering design experience.
- Experience of performing and managing simple and complex analysis, design, and documentation of various structures.
- Strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
- Experience of undertaking steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design to Eurocodes.
- Membership of a professional institution.
- Experience working within teams on structural projects.
- Ability to quickly develop successful relationships with design team members and contractors.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
The Senior Structural Engineers desirable criteria should comply with the following.
- Strong lead design experience in the UK / Irish Construction market.
- A bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- 7 years+ structural design experience in a similar role within a consultancy environment and have knowledge and experience of structural design in accordance with Euro codes.
- IT skills with the use of Structural Engineering design software such as AutoCAD, BIM, Revit and Robot (or equivalent).
