Thomas joined O’Connor Sutton Cronin & Associates in 1998 and has over 30 years’ experience as a qualified Civil and Structural Technician. As an Associate Director and Senior Project Engineer he has delivered many major construction projects which are inclusive of highway design, transport planning, traffic engineering for development, public realm schemes, commercial developments and office buildings throughout across Ireland and the UK.
Thomas was one of the founding Directors for the Belfast office back in 2004.
Thomas manages and oversees the Civil and Structural drafting departments for the whole of OCSC, this includes BIM, Reinforced Concrete Detailing and production of Revit Models and CAD drawings. He incorporates his expertise and experience on each project during various stages of scheme development, from planning, detailed surveys, traffic assessments and route selection from detailed design and tender design, through to construction and completion.
He is known for his can-do attitude and ability to problem solve complex issues with simple and effective solutions to ensure program delivery timescales are met. Thomas provides leadership on project management matters together with client care, business development, Health & Safety and Risk Assessment. He has a thorough working knowledge of various types of contracts and their processes and procedures and has a particular interest in project risk management and collaborative working with project stakeholders to ensure risks are eliminated and mitigated throughout the lifecycle of projects.
Thomas is responsible for ensuring that all O’Connor Sutton Cronin (UK and Northern Ireland) Quality Assurance and BIM standards are being implemented. He recently became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation.
